Intro:
This week we have a really special episode where I am going to invite you to participate in the Vermillion Writing Challenge. So many of our listeners are creating their own scripts. They're off shooting what they've written, directing, sometimes for the first time. It's very exciting. We have a very active, vibrant community here of people who are writing their own material. So I wanted to offer you a writing challenge to help you get over the line for whatever your next, possibly first script might be. So it's very short episode because hopefully you're going to want less time listening and more time writing. But the invitation is to generate up to 20 pages of a project email. That screenplay could be a pilot film, part of a feature film, web series, vertical series, whatever you'd like. Sketch. Email up to 20 pages to our team over at Vermillion, and within two weeks you will get feedback from someone on our development team. We will tell you what we like about the project, and if there's constructive feedback of something that you know, whoever is reading the material feels will make your project better. They will give you that feedback. Now, obviously this is just 1 or 2 people's feedback. Don't take it as gospel, but it could be so helpful in the early stages to just have a single deadline, a single accountability person who you can email your stuff to so you can send your screenplay to info at Club vermilion.com. Info at club VR premium lion1l.com and someone will get back to you with feedback within two weeks. Now I can't promise that this is going to stay open in perpetuity. I'm very busy making my own films, and, you know, Vermillion may not be around forever. I don't know, but I can at least guarantee that this offer will stay open through the end of 2026. So that's pretty good. I'm going to cap it at three scripts per person, just so I don't have one person like emailing us every single week asking us to read their stuff. So yeah, limit of three per person and up to 20 pages. Info at Club vermillion.com. I can't wait to read some of these entries that you guys are going to be sending. And if you need advice on how to write quickly, you should check out the episode on how to write a feature film in ten days, which is the formula that I used to write a feature film in ten days. It's possible. It's doable. You can do it too. Happy writing and very excited to read what you are preparing to create for the world. See you next week! Good luck!
