Two-Week Class Dramas + Procedurals
We are thrilled to be working with Casting Director Josy Rodriguez, CSA for a rare, in-person masterclass on auditioning for dramas and procedurals. Josy is an award-winning casting director currently working at Bowling/Miscia Casting. Her TV credits include FBI, BLUE BLOODS, HOSTAGES, HARLEM, BOSTON BLUE, LIONESS, HIGHTOWN and GOTHAM.
Josy is based in New York and has extensive experience casting many of NYC's longest-running procedurals. Some of her most recognizable work has been on TV shows for networks like HULU, AMAZON PRIME, and STARZ. This class will introduce you to the specificities of going in for TV drama and procedurals and learn how to get called into those offices to begin with!

Class Description & Format
Wednesdays May 20th and 27th 6pm-8:30pm
Week 1
For your first class, you'll bring a drama or procedural scene to present in class with just Misha as she gets to know your work and prepares you to do your best work for Josy. You'll receive feedback on your scene from Misha and get a recording of your work after class. You'll also get a chance to ask Misha questions in a live Q&A. Classes will take place at a rental studio in Manhattan.

Week 2
During your second class, you'll be assigned dramatic or procedural scenes to perform live in class. Josy will work individually with each actor as she directs you into an audition-ready performance. Misha and Josy will then team up for a Q&A to answer all your questions.
You'll receive a recording of all of your work over the past three sessions for future use as well as priceless insight into how to get called in for dramas and procedurals. You'll also be invited to network with your fellow students and the rest of the Vermilion community!

Misha Calvert
Director and Coach
Misha is an award-winning writer, director, and showrunner based in New York. She has created five digital series: STRUT (2018 Tribeca Film Festival) which campaigned for an Emmy in 2022, and ALL HAIL BETH, which landed in the top 25 on the iTunes soundtrack charts in 2019.
Her upcoming projects include FAULT, a drama set in the world of women’s pro tennis; PINK FLAGS, starring Raye and Sawyer Spielberg (Panavision New Filmmaker Grant); and CANDY, a musical short created in partnership with singer-songwriter Kate Eberstadt. She is also in post-production on a new comedy series she directed, THE FUCKBOY DIARIES. On the feature side, Misha is developing two narrative dramatic features.
Misha’s work is high-concept and visually driven, with a consistent focus on gender, mental health, power, and the female experience. She is also the founder of Vermilion, an educational arts organization supporting actors and multi-hyphenates.
